At first glance, the Tour Master Dri-Mesh gloves may not look like much, but there is more than meets the eye here. Tour Master produces quality motorcycle riding gear and accessories, and is well-known as a company which keeps their prices reasonable as well. The Dri-Mesh motorcycle glove is part of their summer line and fits in as a street-oriented lightweight which also protects your hands should they violently meet the pavement.
Tour Master constructs the Dri-Mesh mostly with goat hide, with a perforated layer acting as the upper palm and a solid piece making up the remainder of the palm area. The back or top side of the glove features an abrasion-resistant Armor-Link mesh material which also adds serious ventilation. Between the fingers is some stretch Lycra inserted between the layers of leather and the mesh backside so that flexibility and ventilation is assured. The cuffs are also of goat leather with a hook-and-loop closure giving a range of adjustment as well as secure closing.
The pre-curved shape of the fingers and palm of the glove make wearing the Dri-Mesh very comfortable around the grips – a nice, relaxed shape which lets your fingers find the levers easily. Just about any sized grip is accommodated by these mitts. Wearing this glove is quite nice. It is true that the seams can be felt from the inside, but they are not annoying and seem well-placed. And, try a pair on before you buy as the index finger and thumb seem to be a bit shorter relative to the other fingers on some sizes of the glove.
In a severe crash, the Dri-Mesh will not be as good as a race-spec glove, but in any nasty event it is far better to have some protection than none. Tour Master has created a well-made, lightweight and strong cover for your hands which can handle the heat and still allow you to keep a solid grip on the handlebars. For all of US$37, you too can have wonderful summer glove – the Tour Master Dri-Mesh motorcycle glove.
